Major flooding in the area; (Sunday July 2nd 2017) unknown road and trail status at this time

Just wanted to get the word out that there has been some major flooding and washed out roads in the area.  A few folks are working on CCC pre-ride activities this weekend and will know more regarding the status of our next ride and areas affected over the next couple days.  The Thetford area where our upcoming Lucky’s North ride is scheduled to take place is majorly affected and it seems the lower half of the state and parts of NH significantly affected.

We hope no one has been personally affected and everyone is safe and with power.  Below is an update from Saturday night from the Vermont Agency of Transportation:

Vermont Agency of Transportation as of 8:15 p.m. Saturday:

– Vermont 100 flooded from Rochester to Warren in Washington County. Avoid the area.

– Vermont 125 closed from the Ripton Store west to U.S. 7 in Addison County.

– Vermont 133 closed near the Pawlet/Tinmouth town line in Rutland County.

– Vermont 73 flooded from Brandon east toward Goshen in Addison County. Motorists are advised to avoid the area.

– Water running over the roadway on Vermont 140 east of Church Street in Wallingford. Use caution.

– Vermont 110 is closed in Tunbridge in the area of Howe Lane due to flooding.

Police are reporting localized flash flooding is occurring in various locations in Barre City on Saturday night due to heavy rainfall combined with plugged culverts around the city.

Gunners Brook is rising to flood levels in the Brook street area, and may overtop its banks if the precipitation continues, Barre City police said.
