Brookline/Newfane ride Sunday August 27th

The 9th annual CCCofVT Brookline Ride will be starting from Herbie and Travis Howe’s house in Brookline, VT just outside Newfane, VT. BBQ Cookout Saturday night, bon fire, camping in field behind house (no generators), 8-9:00 signup, last bike out 9:30, No loud bikes or you will be riding somewhere else that day. This is a highly sensitive area for trail riding as we all know the problems we had with the Red Fox Turkey Run fiasco back in 2004 where the local sheriff was able to cancel the Pathfinders event. Let’s not have a repeat of this situation. All it takes is a few local residents to call and complain. No racing numbers on bikes. Route sheets (bring route sheet holder), memberships available at sign up, You must be a member of CCCofVT to participate in the ride. $30.00 annual membership fee. Approximately 120 mile route. ATGATT (All The Gear All The Time) is mandatory, dress for the crash not the ride.

Please remember to bring your membership cards and renew online if possible as it makes it much easier administration wise.

There will be a Southern Loop and a Northern Loop with riders returning to the start for lunch (optional) before heading back out. New sections with a higher degree of difficulty in the southern loop. DS bikes bigger than 650cc not recommended. Riders are free to ride the loops in any order. If you decide to pass on returning to the start for lunch you can stop for lunch at the Grafton General Store early in the northern loop. Gas available in the Southern Loop at 43.2 miles and at reset #2 3.4 miles in the Northern Loop. Ride breakdown: Tar 9.3 miles, DR 75 miles, WR 20 miles, Trail 14 miles. This is a route sheeted ride, be sure to bring a route sheet holder, tape and scissors.
